b) Setting the steering mechanism
• The angles of attack of the top rotor blades are
determined primarily by the position of the control rod
(1).
• If the rotor blade (2) at the left of the steering linkage (3)
runs too high, the linkage at the lower attachment point
(4) must be unhinged and lengthened by a half rotation.
• If the rotor blade runs too low, the linkage must be
shortened by a half rotation.
• Repeat this procedure until the upper rotor shows a
correct alignment as well and both rotor tips run on the
same height.
We recommend attaching a colour marking to a rotor blade tip. This way, you can easily detect height differences.
• The bottom rotor blades are controlled via two separa-
te servos. The left servo (seen in flight direction, 1) is in
charge of the nod function (also see ill. 11, D). The right
servo (seen in flight direction, 2) is in charge of the roll
function (also see ill. 11, C).
• If the helicopter shows a strong trend to fly to a certain
direction and if the trimming function on the transmitter
is not sufficient for a correction, you can influence the
flight behaviour of the helicopter by extending or
shortening the control rods (3 and 4) of the respective
servos to make it fly in the right direction.
Important!
The two servo levers (5) to which the control rods are attached below must be at a 90° angle to the
servo. This is the only way to ensure even swash disk motions to the right and left or front and back.
