4 Application examples

Since the configuration of the LLB measuring system is very flexible the device is usable in various
situations. The following application examples give an idea of possible applications.
Please ask TR-Electronic for detailed description of the mentioned application examples.

4.1 Serial interface RS-232/RS-422

While the RS-232 interface should be used for the configuration of the LLB measuring system (See
5.1 "Connection for device configuration" on page 101) the RS-422 is made for communication in
industrial environment (See on page 5.3.1 "Controlled mode" on page 104 and 6.2.5 "Serial
connection" on page 116). Figure 2 shows the connection of multiple LLB devices to a Siemens S7
PLC.

For RS-422 connections use twisted pair cables only!
