Opening and Closing the Face
Cover
The face cover can be opened and closed with a
single touch. To open the face cover, pull down the
button in the bottom center of the face cover and
release the lock. Lift and rotate the face cover until
you hear a dick when the first stopper engages. The
face cover can be secured in opened position by
continuing to rotate the face cover until it dicks in the
second stopper.
To close the face cover, gently rotate it downward
until you hear a click when the face cover lock
engages.
AwARN!NG
•The face cover stopper is not a
locking mechanism and does not
completely hold the open status.
Riding with the face cover open may create
wind drag, causing the face cover to close.
This may obstruct your view and can be very
dangerous. Always have the face cover closed
and locked while riding your motorcycle.
• Do not remove the face cover from the helmet.
In case of need to adjust the face cover or the
shield/visor, consult your local SHOEI dealer
nearby.
• Do not hold the button while closing the face
cover. This can cause the face cover lock to fail to
engage. A face cover that is not locked may open
unexpectedly during riding and lead to an accident.
After closing the face cover, be sure to check that it
is locked.
• When carrying the helmet, be sure to close the
face cover and check that it is locked. Carrying the
helmet with the face cover unlocked can cause
sudden opening of the face cover and the helmet
may be dropped or become damaged.
• Do not open or close the face cover by grasping
the chin curtain. The chin curtain may come off.

Ouverture et Ferrneture de la
machoire
La miichoire peut etre ouverte et fermee d'un simple
geste. Pour ouvrir la miichoire, abaissez le bouton
situe a l'embase de celle-ci (bouton central), afin
de la deverrouiller. Soulevez et toumez la miichoire
jusqu'a entendre un « die », signe du blocage dans
la premiere butee. Le cache frontal peut etre bloque
en position ouverte en continuant de le faire tourner
jusqu'a ce qu'il s'encliquette dans la seconde butee.
Pour termer la miichoire, abaissez la doucement
jusqu'au « clic », signe de verrouillage en position
fermee.
A AVERT!SSEMENT
• La butee de la machoire n'est pas un mecanisme
de verrouillage et ne maintient pas completement
la position ouverte. Conduire avec la machoire
ouverte peut creer une trainee aerodynamique
et provoquer la fermeture de la machoire. Ceci
peut gener la visibilite et s'averer tres dangereux.
Conservez toujours Ia machoire fermee et
verrouillee lors de la conduite de votre mote.
• Ne retirez pas le cache frontal du casque. En
cas de besoin d'ajustement du cache frontal ou
l'ecran, informez-vous aupres de votre revendeur
SHOEI le plus proche.
• Ne pressez pas le bouton de miichoire lors de sa
fermeture. Ceci pourrait empecher le bon verrouillage
des ergots de miichoire. Une miichoire qui n'est pas
correctement verrouillee peut s'ouvrir inopinement
et peut provoquer un accident. Apres avoir ferme la
miichoire, verifiez toujours son verrouillage.
• Lorsque vous transportez le casque, veillez
a
termer le cache frontal et verifiez qu'il est verrouille.
Transporter le casque avec le cache frontal
deverrouille peut provoquer une ouverture soudaine
du cache frontal et le casque peut tomber ou
s'endommager.
• Ne manipulez pas la miichoire en l'attrapant par la
mentonniere, qui pourrait se detacher.

Chin Curtain
Installing the chin curtain restricts the inflow of wind
into the chin area. It also reduces the wind noise.
The chin curtain is detachable. Follow the procedure
below to install and remove the chin curtain.
Removing the Chin Curtain
The chin curtain is inserted into the plate at the
bottom edge of the face cover and fastened with two
pins. Refer to the drawing. Lift up the face cover plate
near its right and left pins, and remove the pins that
pass through the chin curtain plate. Pull out the chin
curtain. Remove the chin curtain on both the right
and left sides.
Installing the Chin Curtain
As shown in the drawing, lift up the face cover plate (at
the bottom edge of the face cover) and insert the chin
curtain plate in the space created. There are pins on
the interior side of the face cover plate. Insert them
through the holes of the chin curtain plate. Attach the
chin curtain on both the right and left sides.

• With the chin curtain is installed, the sound from
nearby vehides will be reduced. Please be aware
of this while riding.
• Do not pull the chin curtain with the pins in place.
If you do, the chin curtain or face cover plate may
become damaged.
• Do not carry or hold the helmet by the chin curtain.
The chin curtain may come off, and the helmet may
drop.

Mentonniere
La pose de la mentonniere reduit l'entree du vent au
niveau du menton. Elle reduit aussi le bruit du vent.
La mentonniere est detachable. Suivez la procedure
ci-dessous pour installer et detacher la mentonniere.
Extraction de la mentonniere
La mentonniere est inseree dans la plaque situee en
bas de la miichoire, et maintenue par deux attaches.
Soulevez la bordure sur les cotes gauche et droits, et
degagez l'attache. Retirez ensuite la mentonniere, et
tirant sur les cotes droit et gauche.
Installation de la mentonniere
Comme montre sur le croquis, soulevez la bordure
du bas de miichoire, et inserez la base de la
mentonniere dans l'espace ainsi cree. lnserez
ensuite les attaches laterales de mentonniere dans
les espaces de cette bordure, a gauche et a droite.
A AVERTISSEMENT
• Lorsque la mentonniere est installee, le bruit
des vehicules environnants sera reduit. Merci de
prendre ceci en consideration lors de l'utilisation du
casque.
• Ne tirez jamais sur la mentonniere sans avoir
au prealable degage les attaches laterales, car
ceci pourrait endommager la mentonniere et la
miichoire.
• Ne pas transporter ou tenir le casque par la
mentonniere. Celle derniere pourrait s'extraire, et
le casque pourrait chuter.
