f) Gyro Sensitivity Setting „GYRO SEN"
So-called gyroscope (or gyro) systems are used in order to stabilise the tail of the helicopter in the air. If the tail turns
sideways as a result of a wind gust or other external influences, this is recognised by the gyro and a corresponding
control command is sent to counter the turn. For gyro systems that additionally have a controller input, you can switch
the sensitivity in flight with the toggle switch „Gyro" when necessary (see figure 1, item 2).
To set the gyro sensitivity, proceed as follows:
• Call the function settings menu.
• Select the menu item „GYRO SEN" with the buttons „UP" or
„DOWN".
• Activate the menu item with the button „SELECT".
The display shows the display of the gyro sensitivity for both
switch positions (POS0/POS1). The triangle pointing to the
right shows that the value for the switch position 0 (switch
position to the front) can be set.
• Pushing the buttons „INC (+)" or „DEC (-)" permits changing
the value of the gyro sensitivity in the area from 0 to 100.
• The setting is saved automatically.
• Pushing the button „CLEAR" will call the set value specified
ex works again.
• Push the button „SELECT" so that the triangle pointing to the
right will jump down to the switch position 1 (switch position
to the rear).
• The setting is made the same way as that for switch
position 0.
• Push the buttons „UP" and „DOWN" at the same time to re-
turn to the overview of the function setting menu.
Increase the gyros sensitivity in small steps until
the tail of the helicopter shows a tendency to sway
around its vertical axis quickly.
If you reduce the gyro sensitivity a little again, you will
have made the perfect setting for the respective flight
condition or the robot speed.
