Installation location

4.1

Selecting the installation location

When selecting an installation location, note the following:
The devices may only be installed in an industrial environment. They emit

electromagnetic noises and interference which is not permissible in
residential areas.
Air must be able to flow unimpeded to the air inlets and from the air

outlets.
 Electromagnetic immunity (EMC) of the devices in accordance with the
requirements for industrial environments (as per DIN EN 61000-6-4: 2007-
09)
 Electromagnetic interference (EMC) of the devices in accordance with the
requirements for industrial environments (as per DIN EN 61000-6-2: 2006-
03)
 Voltage changes, voltage fluctuations and flicker of the devices (in
accordance with DIN EN 61000-3-11: 2001-04)
Harmonic currents of the devices (in accordance with DIN EN 61000-3-12:

2005-09)
4.2

Operating area

The central inverter must only be installed in an enclosed, electrical
operating area. The operating area must meet local regulations, applicable
standards and directives for electrical systems and be labelled accordingly.
4.2.1

Requirements

 Dry
 Protected against moisture
 Level ground (tolerance: 1 m ± 2 mm)
 Flame retardant
 Non-slip
Clean

Free of foreign objects (such as film, plastic bags or pieces of paper, which

may be sucked in by the fans and put the device at risk)
 Free of explosive materials and aggressive or corrosive gases
 Protected against animals (rodents or insects)
 Lockable and only accessible to persons authorised by the operator
 Ventilation system
Please note the following here:
– Central inverters and devices like transformers, fuse distributors or
system monitoring components (e.g. PC, servers) emit heat.
– The warm exhaust air generated must be channelled away
– The cooler the environment around the central inverter, the higher its
efficiency and the longer its service life.
