Monitoring the temperature
Each central inverter has several temperature sensors. If a central inverter
is not cooled sufficiently (e.g. due to clogged air inlets or outlets, clogged
air filters in the operating area or defective fans), there may be a reduction
in performance. If the temperature remains consistently too high, the
central inverter will be deactivated. When the device has cooled down
again, it will restart automatically.
Please note the following here:
Insufficient ventilation can damage the device.
The air drawn in for cooling must be filtered. (Requirements for the air in
the operating area, p. 40)

Required on site

External DC disconnector
The DC circuit breakers installed in the central inverter do not meet the
requirements of a disconnector. Each central inverter must have an external
DC disconnector. The external DC disconnector disconnects the central
inverter from the DC supply. Use the external DC disconnector in the event
of damage or for checking the central inverter.
Please note the following here:
The external DC disconnector must be accessible and easy to reach at any
time, without aids.
It must be possible to secure the external DC disconnector against being
switched back on.
Overvoltage protection devices
Depending on the local lightning protection situation, the main low-voltage
distribution board and the DC connection may need to be fitted with type I
or type II arresters.
Please note the following here:
A type I/II arrestor as per IEC 61643-1 is integrated into devices with levels
of performance 200/300/350 kVA. (Overvoltage protection devices, p. 18)
External AC disconnector
An external AC disconnector must be installed upstream of each central
inverter. The external AC disconnector can be de-energised, e.g. during
maintenance of the central inverter.
Please note the following here:
The external AC disconnector must be accessible and easy to reach at any
time, without aids.
It must be possible to secure the external AC disconnector against being
switched back on.
External AC disconnectors must comply with international regulations IEC
60364-7-712.
LV HRC disconnectors or AC circuit breakers can satisfy the requirements
of an AC disconnector.
AC-side fuses
There is no fuse integrated in the central inverter. Fuses (LV HRC
disconnector) or an AC circuit breaker must be therefore connected
between each central inverter and the medium-voltage transformer. The
fusing must be according to the rated current specified on the type plate.
The AC cables are to be dimensioned accordingly.
