Material damage due to a modified IT grid
A modified or unavailable IT grid can damage the solar generator and/or
the central inverter.
 Do not modify the IT grid.
The reliability of the IT grid must be guaranteed with insulation and earth
fault monitoring on an earthed solar generator.
Central inverters are designed for grid connection to a medium-voltage
transformer and may only be operated in IT (Isolé Terre) grids.
Please note the following here:
 IT grids are unearthed.
 In the event of an earth fault, the IT grid is earthed.
 Sufficiently dimensioned earthing is required to conduct surge voltages
away.
Route the earthing to the reference earth via the shortest path.

The overvoltage protection and the filter units for the inverter only work

when the device is earthed.
 Do not earth the neutral point of the medium-voltage transformer.

Safety equipment, on site

External DC disconnector
The DC circuit breakers installed in the central inverter do not meet the
requirements of a disconnector. An external DC disconnector must be
installed upstream of each central inverter. The external DC disconnector
disconnects the central inverter from the DC supply. Use the external DC
disconnector in the event of damage or for checking the central inverter.
Please note the following here:
The external DC disconnector must be accessible and easy to reach at any

time, without aids.
 It must be possible to secure the external DC disconnector against being
switched back on.
Overvoltage protection equipment
Depending on the local lightning protection situation, the main low-voltage
distribution board and the DC connection may need to be fitted with type I
or type II arresters.
