Connecting the solar generator

Materials required
 Torque wrench 19 mm
 Cable stripping knife, insulation removal tool
M12 cable lug

Please note the following here:
– Cable lugs must be of the correct size for the cable diameters used.
– Cable lugs must be insulated on the shaft using an insulating sleeve or
shrink tubing.
– Cable lug manufacturer's specifications
Permissible tools for crimping cable lugs.


Prerequisites
Safety equipment installed (Required on site, p. 19)

2–8 cable leads

Each central inverter has four DC inputs.
 When switching off: First de-energise the central inverter using the
disconnector in the field and then switch off the DC circuit breaker.
When switching on: Leave the DC circuit breaker of the central inverter

switched off and switch on the disconnector first. This enables you to
check whether the DC main cables are correctly connected to the DC
connection bars in the central inverter. Switch off the external
disconnector after checking. Then switch on the DC circuit breaker for the
central inverter. Now switch on the external disconnector.

Procedure
1. Remove the lower protective cover
2. Check the cable leads of the solar generator
Material damage due to unsuitable cable lugs
The cable lugs used must match the selected cable diameter, the device's
connection bar and the diameter of the threaded bolt. If unsuitable cable
lugs are used, they may work loose, thereby interrupting the flow of
current and causing material damage.
Use cable lugs of the correct size

Only crimp the cable lugs with approved tools

Do not use aluminium cable lugs

If aluminium cables are used, use aluminium-copper washers or

aluminium-copper transition cable lugs.
