DC side

2–8 cable leads must be available on site

 Each central inverter has four DC inputs (DC plus and DC minus) to which
the DC main cables from the generator junction boxes can be connected.

Possible earthing of the solar generator

When using some thin-film modules or special solar modules with contacts
on the rear, it may be necessary to earth the solar generator. Please contact
the manufacturer of the solar module to check whether this is required.
Risk of fatal injury due to earthed solar generator
In typical applications, which many engineers would expect to encounter,
the solar generator is structured like an insulated grid and is not earthed.
An earthed solar generator, by contrast, behaves like a TN grid. This can
cause engineers to reach decisions under false assumptions when
detecting residual currents (earth faults), which in turn can have
potentially life-threatening consequences.
 Clearly mark earthed solar generators
 Only implement the earthing using clearly labelled switching and safety
equipment
If you have to earth the solar generator, use the supplied jumper (terminal
X23, see circuit diagram).
Please note the following here:
 Only insert or remove the jumper when the device is completely de-
energised.
The earthing of the solar generator must satisfy the applicable safety

regulations, standards and local regulations.
 It is possible to earth the solar generator at both poles.
 Earthing of the solar generator is permitted only in conjunction with a
galvanically isolated transformer coil.
Ensure that you have the required specialist knowledge or contact an

expert.
 Set the following in the Extras submenu in the display:
– Earthing of the solar generator
– Response of the device in the event of an earthing fault
