DC circuit breaker (Q1–Q4)
DC circuit breakers have 2 independent trigger mechanisms:
Short-circuit protection: Fast, magnetic triggering in the event of a short

circuit
Setting: MIN 1250 A; Left-hand adjustment wheel
Line protection: Thermal triggering in the event of overload

Setting range: 175–250 A: Right-hand adjustment wheel
Standard setting: MAX 250 A
If the DC current is less than the maximum permissible input current
(Technical specifications, p. 83), the triggering threshold of the circuit
breaker on the right-hand adjustment wheel can be changed. This
adjustment can, for example, be used when a small cable cross-section is
being used. The trigger current of the DC circuit breaker can then be
adapted to the permissible continuous current of the connected cables.
When making adjustments using the right-hand adjustment wheel, please
note the following:
The ambient temperatures of the cables

The ambient temperature of the DC circuit breaker

The cabling layout

The desired voltage drop

 Type of conductor (e.g. copper or aluminium)
 Type of cable (e.g. earth cable)
 Standards and local regulations
The specified trigger currents relate to an ambient temperature of the
circuit breaker of 40 °C. If the central inverter is ventilated adequately, the
ambient temperature of the circuit breaker will be a maximum of 10 °C
above the supply air temperature of the central inverter.

To ensure reliable and smooth operation of the central inverter, the
manufacturer recommends using the values for an ambient temperature of
+50 °C.
If you are using the optional DC busbars (Starting the device, p. 66): Set the
right-hand adjustment wheel to 250 A.
