Please note the following here:
A type I/II arrestor as per IEC 61643-1 is integrated into devices with levels
of performance 200/300/350 kVA. (Overvoltage protection devices, p. 19)
External AC disconnector
An external AC disconnector must be installed upstream of each central
inverter. The external AC disconnector can be de-energised, for example
during maintenance work on the central inverter.
Please note the following here:
The external AC disconnector must be accessible and easy to reach at any
time, without aids.
It must be possible to secure the external AC disconnector against being
switched back on.
External AC disconnectors must comply with international regulation IEC
60364-7-712.
LV HRC disconnectors or AC circuit breakers can satisfy the requirements
of an AC disconnector.
AC-side fuses
There is no fuse integrated in the central inverter. Fuses (LV HRC
disconnector) or an AC circuit breaker must therefore be connected
between each central inverter and the medium-voltage transformer. The
fusing must be according to the rated current specified on the type plate.
The AC cables are to be dimensioned accordingly.
An AC circuit breaker with isolating properties or a fuse switch with a
fusible cut-out of gG standard must be connected upstream of each central
inverter.
When selecting the AC circuit breaker: Special requirements when
operating with transformerless central inverters. If you are unsure, please
contact the manufacturer.
AC circuit breaker must be adjusted to the rated current of the device.
If the AC circuit breaker meets the requirements of an AC disconnector,
check if a further AC disconnector is required.
If the AC circuit breaker meets the requirements for fusing the device,
then it is not usually necessary to insert a fuse on the AC side.
When selecting the fuse (LV HRC disconnector), consider:
Local directives and regulations
The ambient temperature influences the trigger behaviour of the fuse.
If the rated current on the type plate differs from the rated current for the
fuse inserts, use a fuse insert with the next highest rated current.
If the LV HRC disconnector meets the requirements of an AC disconnector,
check if a further AC disconnector is required.
If the LV HRC disconnector meets the requirements for fusing the device,
then it is not usually necessary to insert a fuse on the AC side.
If you have any questions regarding the dimensioning of the fuses, please
contact the fuse manufacturer.
Please note the following here:
– There are fuses which cannot support the rated current continuously.
– Level of performance 200 kVA: Maximum 450 A, use type gG
– Level of performance 300 kVA: Maximum 630 A, use type gG
– Level of performance 350 kVA: Maximum 722 A, use type gTr or gG
