6| Caring for the
pressure cooker
6.1. Cleaning
The pressure cooker should be cleaned after
every use. Unclip the lid handle and rinse
both sides under running water (D) (O).
Remove the seal (10) from the lid (E). Clean
the lid and seal by hand. The pot and in-
serts can be washed in the dishwasher. Do
not scratch off any food residue – soak
the pot instead. To remove any limescale
deposits, boil vinegar water in the pot.
You should also clean the base of the pot
regularly.
6.2. Storage
After cleaning and thoroughly drying the
cooker, store it in a protected place. After
cleaning, position the lid upside down on
top of the pot and place the handle loose
in the lid. After cleaning, store the sealing
ring (10) separately to protect it.
6.3. Maintenance
The pressure cooker is a technical object in-
tended for everyday use and its individu-
al parts can be subject to wear and tear.
Therefore, after extended use you should
check all the individual parts according to
the spare parts list. If you notice any ob-
vious changes, you must replace the parts
concerned. Check the sealing ring for dam-
age. Replace it if it shows signs of cracking,
discolouration or porosity. Replace it af-
ter two years at the latest with an original
WMF sealing ring.
Only use the manufacturer's original spare
parts.
Note: If the lid handle (5) and lid are dam-
aged they must be repaired at our factory.

7| A wide range of uses
The benefits of fast cooking do not just apply
to traditional cooking methods.
7.1. Cooking frozen food
Frozen food can be removed directly from
the freezer and placed in the pot. Meat
should be thawed slightly before it is
cooked. Vegetables can be removed direct-
ly from the packaging and placed in the in-
sert. The heating times are extended but
the cooking times remain the same.
7.2. Preparing wholefoods
Wholefood diets often include prepared
grains and pulses. When cooked in the
pressure cooker, grains and pulses do not
necessarily need to be soaked beforehand.
Instead, the cooking times are extended by
approximately half. In addition to the min-
imum 1/4 l liquid, add at least two parts
liquid to one part grains/pulses. Residu-
al heat on the hob can be utilised to allow
the grains/pulses to swell. Make sure that
the pot is only filled halfway when cook-
ing foods that froth or swell (grains, puls-
es). (For more information, see also 3.2 Liq-
uid volumes).
7.3. Preserving
You can preserve 1 l jars in the 6.5 l
pressure cooker and smaller jars in the
4.5 l pressure cooker. Prepare the food as
normal.
Fill the pot with 1/4 l water. Place the pre-
serving jars in the perforated insert.
Vegetables/meat
Cook for approx. 20 min. on the 2nd or-
ange cooking ring.
Stone fruit
Cook for approx. 5 min. on the 1st orange
cooking ring.
Pip fruit
Cook for approx. 10 min. on the 1st orange
cooking ring.
