6.8.4 Loading a configuration from the unit

CAUTION
Prior to loading a configuration in
any case check if it corresponds to
the speaker constellation con-
nected.
Due to the flexible possibilities of configuration
of the DSM-480LAN, e. g. an output configured
for controlling a tweeter may become the bass
frequency output after loading another configu-
ration. In this case there is the risk of overload
for a tweeter connected to this output.
To load a configuration from the memory of the
DSM-480LAN:
1) Click the following button.
The dialog window
"Read from Memory Program"
(
fig. 23) opens.
2) Select a configuration from the list under
"Memory Program".
3) To load, click the button "Read" or cancel the
procedure with "Cancel".
If a free memory location "Program Empty"
has been selected, an error message
appears.
4) In another dialog window "Read Memory Pro-
gram – Overwriting current editing, are you
sure?" confirm or cancel the procedure.
After loading, the window "Read from
Memory Program" will be closed.

6.8.5 Configurations on the memory card

As described in chapter 6.8.3 for the storage of a
configuration in the unit, it is possible to write a
configuration on a memory chip card in the unit
via the button "Store to Memory-Card".
Likewise, according to chapter 6.8.4, a con-
figuration of a memory chip card in the unit may
be loaded to the computer via the button "Read
from Memory-Card".
If there is no card in the unit, the following error
message appears: "Memory Card not present".
Window "Store to Memory Program"
Window "Read from Memory Program"
6.8.6 Administrating configurations
as a project
In order to always prevent the individual transfer,
storage and loading of configurations, it is possi-
ble to combine up to 24 configurations (i. e. all
memory locations of the DSM-480LAN) to proj-
ects. A project can newly be complied of the indi-
vidual configurations if these configurations
have already been memorized on the computer
(
chapter 6.8.1). Alternatively, all configura-
tions of the memory of the DSM-480LAN or of
the memory card can be loaded as a project to
be memorized as a back-up copy on the com-
puter or to serve as a basis for a new project.

6.8.6.1 Compiling a project

To compile a new project:
1) Click the button "Store Project". The window
"Store Project" opens (
fig. 24).
2) Select the memory location in the field
"Select Position" or in the list under "Project
List".
3) Via the button "Search Program" load a con-
figuration memorized on the computer.
4) Enter the name for the configuration in the
field "Edit Name Program". The name may
consist of 16 characters as a maximum. It is
recommended to refrain from using special
(country-specific) characters (e. g. ä, ö, ü, ß,
è, ô, ì, á, ñ, μ) as they will not correctly be
shown on the display of the DSM-480LAN.
5) Add the configuration to the list via the button
"Add to Project List".
6) Repeat the steps 2) to 5) until all desired con-
figurations are contained in the project.
7) To remove a configuration from the project
list, select its memory location in the field
"Select Position" or in the list under "Project
List" and click the button "Delete from Project
List". In the dialog window opened "Delete
Program from the Project list, are you sure?"
confirm or cancel the procedure.
8) Prior to closing the window "Store Project"
store the project in any case (
6.8.6.2) otherwise it will be lost.

6.8.6.2 Memorizing the project

To store the project after the project has newly
been created or loaded from the memory of the
DSM-480LAN:
1) Click the button "Save Project to PC" in the
window "Store Project" (
fig. 24).
2) Enter the desired file name, select the mem-
ory location and store the file.
As a preset for the memory location, the
subfolder "Project" created automatically dur-
ing programme installation is selected. The
file extension *.prj is automatically attached
to the name entered.

6.8.6.3 Loading a project

To load a project memorized on the computer:
1) Click the button "Store Project". The window
"Store Project" opens (
fig. 24).
2) Click the button "Search Project". The dialog
window "Open" opens.
3) Select the desired project file and confirm the
opening.
In the window "Store Project" under "Pro-
ject Name" the file name and the memory
location of the project loaded are present
now.
