Creating TIM-PN modules

The next steps add distributed I/O systems to the hardware configuration.

Open the Hardware catalog.

Change to the Network view.
u
Open the Other field devices and PROFINET IO folders.

Open Hottinger Baldwin Messtechnik GmbH and the smart torque folder with the
TIM-PN interface module located there.

Finally, use drag & drop to move the TIM-PN interface module to the Network view.

Networking

To begin with, use drag & drop to create a connection to the controller and the device.
This assigns the device to the controller. A PROFINET I/O system was created automati­
cally in the networking process and its properties are displayed in the Network view.

In the Topology view, create a connection between the PROFINET nodes.

Double-click Devices & Networks.
u
Change to the Topology view.
u
Use drag & drop to connect the ports in accordance with the physical connection.
