- The working platform must always be accessed as prescribed in this manual.
- Bridging of scaffolds to building with blanks or similar material is prohibited.
The scaffold may not be used as tower in order to reach other constructions.
3.3 Safety instructions for the movement of the scaffold
- The scaffold may only be moved, if it carries no persons and no material.
- The scaffold must be moved by hand. Move it only over firm and level surfaces that
are free of obstacles.
- Moving the scaffold with the aid of other vehicles of all types is prohibited.
- Do not move the scaffold at speeds that exceed the normal walking speed.
- Move the scaffold only forward and back, and to the left and right, i.e. parallel to
the sides of the frame.
- Ensure that the surface on which the scaffold is moved has the necessary load-
bearing capacity.
- It is forbidden to lift or hoist the scaffold.
- Do not move the scaffold at winds over strength 6 (~ 45 km/h).
- Prior to use it is necessary to ensure that safety requirements to avoid an
inadvertant move of the scaffold were complied with, e. g. by pressing down of
parking brakes.
3.4 Safety instructions for work on electrical systems
Prior to carrying out any work on electrical systems and units, ensure that
- the unit is disconnected from the power supply
- the unit is secured against inadvertent switching on
- all parts have been tested for residual voltage
- the unit has been grounded and short-circuited
- adjacent parts that remain powered are properly covered or cordoned off
3.5 Working near electric overhead lines
In case of work on electrical lines with the described scaffold, below mentioned safe-
ty margins have to be observed. The safety margins grant that no contacts in case of
swinging off the electrical lines can be possible and the working person with poss.
helded objects has enough open space. Safety margins according to VDE 0105-100.
Safety distance of 1m for rated voltages up to 1000 V
Safety distance 3m for rated voltages from 1 kV to 110 kV
Safety distance 4m for rated voltages from 110 kV to 220 kV
Safety distance 5m for rated voltages from 200 kV to 380 kV
If these safety distances cannot be maintained, contact the operator of the overhead
line to arrange for a shut down.

3.6 Additional security advices
The following regulations are also valid for the assembly, the inspection and the use
of the described scaffold
– BGI 5101; BGI 663; BGI 821
For the use of electrical equipment on the described scaffold the regulations of BGI
663 and BGI 594 „Safety regulations for the use of electrical equipment with increa-
sed electrical hazard" are valid.
4. Installation of scaffold
4.1 General
The scaffold may only be installed, after all parts of section 2 on the product and
the safety instructions in section 3 have been read in full. At least two workers are
required to erect the scaffold. Before starting the erection work, ensure that all
necessary component parts and tools are available on the site of installation and
that the parts of the scaffold are not defective. Use only original component parts
that meet the specifications of the manufacturer.
NOTE ON THE USE OF THE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
The installation manual describes the various installation options.
Read the entire installation manual before erecting the scaffolding and consider the
different installation options.
The installation manual consists of the following chapters:
4.2 Base frame
4.3 Base frame with first frame element
4.4 Base frame with first and second frame element
4.5 Ballast load
4.6 Erection option with outrigger
4.7 Fixture of scaffold to wall
4.8 Special accessories: castor kit, height-adjustable castor kit
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Depending on the height above ground of the upper accessible board, the scaffold
might have to be stabilised with ballasts or outriggers. To find out more, read the
relevant sections in chapters 4.5, 4.6 or 4.7 respectively.
All plug-type connections must
be secured with scaffold clips.
