Maintenance and servicing
9.1
Chapter content
This chapter provides information on the following:
● Maintenance and servicing procedures that have to be carried out on a regular basis to
ensure the availability of the cabinets.
● The exchange of components during servicing
● Loading firmware
Operation of electrical installations in accordance with EN 50110-1
This standard applies to the operation of and all work on, with or in the vicinity of electrical
installations.
The "five safety rules" must be observed in particular for all maintenance and repair work:
1. Disconnect the system.
2. Protect against reconnection.
3. Make sure that the equipment is de-energized.
4. Ground and short-circuit.
5. Cover or fence off adjacent components that are still live.
A hazardous voltage is still present in SINAMICS DC MASTER DC converter cabinets after
disconnecting as a result of snubber capacitors. The cabinet may therefore only be worked
on following a 1 minutes wait time after it has been disconnected from the power source.
Even when the main switch is open, there may be a dangerous voltage in the cabinet.
System circuit diagrams and the descriptions of the options must be observed.
Put the cabinet into a safe state
The cabinet must be put into a safe state before all the maintenance and servicing
procedures described in the following chapters:
1. Shut down the drive in an orderly manner, e.g. OFF2 command; see SINAMICS DCM DC
Converter Operating Instructions.
2. Check and ensure that the motor has come to a standstill
