display shows the most suitable value to have been
set: 99998.8 N).
S Input range = 400000 pC (399995.2 pC is automati
cally calculated and set in the CMD).
This produces an output voltage on the charge amplifier
of +10 V at 100 kN.
Example 2: force washer
S A maximum force of 100 kN is to be measured.
S Select a force washer with a full scale value of
140 kN, e.g. CFW/140 kN.
S For technical reasons, the force washer must be
pre‐stressed with approx. 20% of the nominal (rated)
force. This leaves a useful range of approx. 0.8 x
140 kN = 112 kN. The pre‐stressing screw causes a
force shunt, the sensitivity is then approx. 7 to 9%
less. This produces a sensitivity of approx. -3.956 pC/
N in a measuring range of 100 kN.
S Enter transducer sensitivity 3956 (pC/kN) in the Sen
sor sensitivity field in the CMD Assistant. (The
minus sign of the transducer sensitivity is not
entered.)
S Enter measuring range 100 in the Physical input
range field in the CMD Assistant, the display shows
the most suitable value to have been set: 99.99747.
S This produces 395590 pC for the charge range at the
input (is calculated automatically and set in the CMD).
So an output voltage of +10 V at 100 kN is produced at
the charge amplifier when the sensitivity is 3.956 pC/N,
as estimated.
