Measuring imbalance

A wheel can only be correctly balanced if all the
settings correspond to the mounted wheel.

Automatic start has been activated in the
description that follows.
i
The measurement can be interrupted at any time by
pressing the <STOP>key.
1. Close the wheel-guard hood.
« The balance measurement should start automati-
cally; if it does not, press <OK>.
i
On completion of the measurement, the values of
the required balance weights are indicated on the
monitor.

Only open the wheel-guard hood if the wheel has
come to a complete standstill.
2. Raise wheel-guard hood.
i
If the wheel imbalance measured is very high (e.g.
static imbalance greater than 50 g), we recommend
carrying out the optimization procedure by utilizing
the static imbalance of the rim to compensate
for the static imbalance of the tire (see section
"Imbalance minimization").

Attaching balance weights

After the balance weights have been attached, the
imbalance must be measured again to check the
balance.

Positioning the wheel

Easyfix® supports the fastening of adhesive balance
weights with Easyfix® with Alu2, Alu3 and Pax2
as the electronic rim-distance gauge locks when
the balancing plane has been reached. All other
programs are not supported by Easyfix® .

If ROLL R8 (P-LOCK) is equipped with a laser
display, the adhesive balance weight can also be
affixed manually with the assistance of the laser
beam.
i
Blue squares (on either side of the tire) on the
monitor indicate the direction in which the wheel
has to be turned in order to attach the balance
weight in the 12 o'clock position.
