9.4 Automatic selection of balancing
program
ROLL R8 (P-LOCK) automatically detects the 3
balancing programs Standard, ALU2 and ALU3 when
using the electronic rim-distance gauge. One of the
3 programs is selected on the basis of the number of
points acquired using the electronic rim-distance gauge:

Open the "Balancing" menu on the Start page by
pressing <OK> .

To prevent damage to the electronic rim-distance
gauge, it must always be moved to the rest position
by hand.

With the balancing programs ALU2 and ALU3, all
measurement points needed are determined by the
electronic rim-distance gauge.
1. Position the electronic rim-distance gauge that
measures the distance and diameter of the rim
on the rim bead and hold in this position for one
second.

« An audible signal sounds to confirm storage of
the position.

If the electronic rim-distance gauge is put back in
the rest position, the Standard balancing program
is selected automatically. Continue with step 2 for
ALU2 and ALU3.
