Enter the distance of the rim from the zero point of
ROLL R8 (P-LOCK) by way of the + / – keys.
Press <OK> to return to the previous page.
Selection of balancing program; 11 passenger car
programs, 5 motorcycle programs; the program selected
is displayed in the status bar.
Switching of units (mm / inch)
Selection of user 1, 2 or 3. The last settings and rim data
selected are assigned to the current user and stored.

Important notes on balancing

WARNING – Incorrectly balanced wheels!
Risk of injury due to change in handling
characteristics of vehicle.
€
ROLL R8 (P-LOCK) must be positioned on
a flat surface and secured.
€
Specified flange must be mounted on
clean and grease-free shaft.
€
Use the specified accessories (cone,
spacer rings).
€
Rim must contact flange accurately,
remove any dirt.
€
Perform a reference measurement after
attaching balance weights.
Designations used:
Designation Item
Distance Distance of rim from ROLL R8 (P-LOCK)
Rim diameter Measured diameter of wheel or nominal
diameter of wheel specified on the rim
Rim width This corresponds to the rim width with the
standard programs,
with ALU2 (PAX2) and ALU3 (PAX3) this
corresponds to the distance between the 2
balancing planes.
1st balancing Balance weight nearest to the rim-distance
plane gauge.
= weight on inside
2nd balancing Balance weight farthest from the rim-
plane = weight on distance gauge
outside

The balancing plane is the plane on which the
balance weight is attached.

The position of the balancing planes depends on
which program is selected.

Static balancing is recommended for wheels with a
rim width of less than 3.5". In this case, only the rim
diameter value is entered.

The values for distance and rim width can be set
arbitrarily in "Inch" or "mm".
