Electronic wheel data recording

i
The input of wheel data depends on which balancing
program has been selected.
i
To record the rim data electronically, the electronic
rim-distance gauge and sonar must be activated (see
chapter "Settings").
To balance the wheel, the wheel must be labeled by
defining and entering the following parameters:
+
Distance
+
Rim diameter
+
Rim width
i
The position of the balancing planes depends on
which program is selected.

Standard, ALU1 (PAX1), ALU4, ALU5

and all static balancing programs

Distance and rim diameter
1. Open the "Enter rim data" menu on the main page
of the balancing software.
2. Select balancing program.
3. Place the electronic rim-distance gauge for rim
distance and rim diameter against the rim and hold
in position for one second.

« The measurement location is indicated on the
monitor in accordance with the balancing pro-
gram selected.
« An audible signal sounds to confirm storage of
the position.
« The position data are displayed.
"
The individual values have now been read in and are
displayed on the monitor.

Rim width
i
The rim width can be determined electronically by
the sonar only for standard programs.
Close the wheel-guard hood.
« Sonar measures the rim width.
« An audible signal sounds to confirm storage of
the rim width.
« The imbalance measurement commences auto-
matically.
"
The rim width and the values of the balance weights
needed are displayed on the monitor.

ALU2 (PAX2) and ALU3

Distance, rim diameter and rim width
1. Open the "Enter rim data" menu on the main page
of the balancing software.
2. Select balancing program.
3. Position the electronic rim-distance gauge according
to the balancing plane and hold for 1 second in this
position.
Fig. 45:
Electronic measurement with non-standard programs
« An audible signal sounds to confirm storage of
the position.
4. Position the electronic rim-distance gauge at
the 2nd measuring point (without bringing the
electronic rim-distance gauge into the rest position
beforehand) and hold in this position for 1 second.
« An audible signal sounds to confirm storage of
the position.
« The position data are displayed.
"
The individual values have now been read in and are
displayed on the monitor.
