Safety Concept
The device has been designed under many stringent safety aspects.
Hardware and software have both been established on the basis of these criteriae. The
resulting unit is intended for standard applications. A sister device model 2/209 is
available with a TÜV certificate for safety applications in class 4 and class 5 according to
DIN V 19250.
The configurable trip amplifiers offer the following significant advantages over
conventional trip amplifiers:
•
continous comparison of analogue inputs with reference values (not possible in the
past)
•
self-monitoring feature with dynamic watchdog circuit (not possible in the past)
•
non volatile EEPROM for data storage while the operating system is stored in EPROM
•
feedback on relay status and continuous monitoring of relay coils with a watchdog
forcibly deenergizing relays when a fault is detected (not possible in the past)
•
RAM test to check memory
•
external access can be restricted (not possible in the past)
•
single faults switch to a safe condition
