DISINFECTING SUPPORT SURFACE
WARNING
• To avoid the risk of patient injury, disinfect the support surface between patients . Failure to do so could result in
cross-contamination and infection .
• Some disinfectants may cause damage to the product if used improperly . If the products described below are
used to disinfect the support surface, measures must be taken to ensure the entire surface is wiped with a damp
cloth soaked in clean water and thoroughly dried following disinfection . The cover can be damaged when exposed
to such disinfectants beyond the manufacturers' recommendations . Failure to follow these directions when using
these types of disinfectants may void this product warranty .
• To avoid the risk of shock, unplug unit prior to cleaning or disinfecting .
• To avoid the risk of equipment damage, the support surface cover must be completely dry before storage or adding
linens . Failure to remove excess disinfectant could cause degradation of the cover material .
Suggested Disinfectants:
- Quaternaries
- Phenolic Disinfectant
- Chlorinated Bleach Solution (5 .25% bleach diluted 1 part bleach to 100 parts water)
- 70% Isopropyl Alcohol
Note: If pump is installed, unplug from unit prior to disinfection .

Ensure surface has been thoroughly cleaned and dried prior to applying disinfectants .

Wipe down the support surface with a clean, dry cloth to remove any excess liquid or disinfectant .
3 .
Care must be taken to thoroughly rinse and dry covers following disinfection .
CAUTION
• Frequent or prolonged exposure to higher concentration disinfectant solutions may prematurely age the cover
fabric .
• The use of quaternaries containing glycol ethers or accelerated hydrogen peroxides may damage the cover .
CLEANING PUMP AND HOSES
WARNING
• To avoid the risk of shock, unplug unit prior to cleaning or disinfecting .
• To avoid the risk of cross-contaminations, disinfect Stryker Air pump and hose between patient installations, utilizing
standard hospital protocol and disinfectants and manufacturers recommendations for cleaning .

Clean and disinfect the hose, pump, and power cord utilizing standard hospital protocol and disinfectants after
referring to Stryker Air pump manufacturer's operations manual . Do not autoclave .

Refer to Stryker Air pump manufacturer's operations manual for storage recommendations .
