2 Installation
2.1 Selecting the Installation Site
When selecting a location to install the terminal:
Choose a stable, vibration-free surface to mount the terminal.
Ensure there are no excessive fluctuations in temperature and no direct exposure to sunlight.
Calibrate the terminal after any major change of geographical location.
Avoid drafts on the weighing platform (for example, from open windows or air conditioning).
2.2 Opening the Enclosure
The front panel of the harsh enclosure terminal is secured in place with eight (8) screws. To gain access to the
terminal's PCB for internal wiring and setting switches, separate the front panel from the enclosure as follows.
1 Place the terminal face-down on a flat, non-abrasive surface.
2 Locate the eight screws securing the cover. Carefully loosen each screw by turning counter-clockwise. Note
that these screws are anti-thief and do not screw them out completely.
3 Hold the front cover and the enclosure together as you flip the enclosure back over to its normal position.
4 Remove the cover. The cover will swing down, hinged by two wire cables at the bottom.
2.3 Mounting the Terminal
2.3.1 Desktop Mounting
When the terminal will be placed on a flat surface, the four rubber feet included with the terminal should be
adhered to the bottom of the enclosure to prevent sliding. Locate the four rubber feet from a kit of parts supplied
with the terminal, remove them from their protective paper, and press one foot onto each corner of the bottom of
the enclosure, as shown in the figure below.
