To ensure water resistance and dust sealing:
1 Pass the appropriately sized cable through the correct gland before connecting the wires. Depending upon
the gland size, cables of a specific diameter must be used (refer to [Connections Page 12]) . Note that
when installing the fiber optic interface option, a special split grommet is provided to seal around the
fiber optic cables.
2 When making cable terminations inside the harsh enclosure, ensure that the cable length from the terminal
strip / connector to the terminal housing is sufficient so that no strain is placed on the connector assembly
when the housing is in the fully open position.
3 Cables that include shields should have the shield terminated at the gland as shown in the following figure.
Spread the shield wires out and make sure enough shield wire is present to make good contact with the
metal part of the gland. Note that the shield of the cable from IND500x to ACM500 or ACM200 must not
be terminated at the ACM500 or ACM200 end. The shield must be left open at the ACM500 or
ACM200 end of the cable.

4 After making the wiring connections as described in the next section, ensure the nut on the cable gland is
tightened (torque 5-6 Nm) properly to seal around the cable.
5 If any hole is not used, block it by installing an ATEX/IECEx approved Dummy Stopper (torque 2 Nm) or
alternatively by use of an ATEX/IECEx approved cable gland with the Ex Locking Bolt (torque of the
compression cup 4 Nm). Note that when the special split grommet provided to seal around the fiber optic
cable is not in use, replace it by ATEX/IECEx approved Dummy Stopper (torque 2 Nm).

20 Installation​ ​

Bending radius should be greater than 5 x cable diameter.

Ensure for the cable an appropriate strain relief.
