This Instruction Manual relates to the following hearing protectors:
STIHL DYNAMIC X-Ergo and STIHL DYNAMIC Ergo.
The hearing protector is intended to protect the user against harmful noise levels,
as long as the hearing protector is used and attached to the helmet in accordance
with this Instruction Manual. Any other uses than described in this Instruction Man-

ual are not permitted.
Please read this Instruction Manual carefully and keep all product information in a
safe place so that you can refer to it at any time.
The product meets the harmonized standard EN 352-3:2020 and complies with the
requirements of Directive 2016/425 and Regulation 2016/425 on PPE as brought
into UK Law and amended.

The hearing protectors should only be attached and worn with the following indus-

The hearing protector is designed for use when working with chainsaws (e.g.
timber harvesting). No statement can be made regarding the level of protection for
other uses.
To ensure the highest comfort and protection from this hearing protector, you
should
● Install, adjust, use and maintain the hearing protector according to the in-
structions below.
● Check regularly that the hearing protector does not have worn parts or
cracks. This product can be affected by certain chemical substances. Further
details should be requested from the manufacturer.
● Check each time before using the hearing protector that it is in perfect condi-
tion (for example, visual state of the hearing protector). Discard the hearing
protector immediately if it is damaged or has been modified.
WARNING
Failure to comply with the instructions in this Instruction Manual can severely com-
promise the protective function.
The full protective function can only be achieved if in noisy areas the hearing pro-
tector is worn continuously .
● Ensure that the function of the hearing protector is checked regularly.
Any modifications to the hearing protector can impair the protective effect.
● For this reason do not attempt to modify the hearing protector in any way.
No hearing protector can ensure total protection against hearing damage. The
degree of protective function depends on various factors, such as e.g. the period of
use and the frequency of the noise source.
This hearing protector is no substitute for a safe working technique. Incorrect use of
a power tool can result in accidents.
● It is therefore essential to observe the safety regulations issued by the re-
spective authorities (employer's liability insurance associations, etc.) and the
safety instructions in the Instruction Manual for the power tool you are using.
When the hearing protector is worn, the perception of warning signals is limited.
● Work with increased attention and care.
Covering the sealing cushions with "hygiene covers" can compromise the acoustic
performance of the hearing protection capsules.
Adjusting the hearing protector
● Remove any ear jewelery which can compromise the acoustic performance.
● Place hearing protection capsules on the ears and remove all hair between
ear and sealing cushions.
● Press hearing protection capsules onto the ears,
the hearing protection capsules engages audibly.
An even pressure must be felt around the ears.
● Adjust hearing protection capsules so that they sit comfortably and securely
and fully enclose the ears.
WARNING
This hearing protector for helmet attachment is suitable for persons with a medium
to large head size (51-61 cm), and with medium to large distance between the top
of the head and the centerline of the ears. A smaller distance can lead to a poor fit
and reduce the damping properties of the hearing protector.
Caution: The protective function is not provided fully if the sealing cushions do not
contact the head directly (e.g. due to thick glasses frames, a dense beard, a hood,
ear jewelry, etc.).
Care and cleaning
● Hearing protection capsules and particularly the sealing cushions can wear
with use and should therefore be checked frequently, for example for signs of
cracking and poor sealing.
● Clean hearing protector with a soft cloth which has been moistened with luke-
warm soapy water. The detergent used must not irritate the skin.
● Allow hearing protector to dry before reusing.
● Do not immerse hearing protector in liquids.
● Do not use brushes or sharp objects, to prevent damage to the hearing
protector.
● Improper cleaning and care can negatively impact the protective function
of the hearing protector, therefore only clean and care for the product as
described.
Service life
The hearing protector may be used for up to 5 years from the date of manufacture.
The date of manufacture can be found on the packaging.

● It is essential to replace and dispose of the hearing protector in good time.
● If the hearing protector is damaged or can no longer be cleaned: Replace
hearing protector and dispose of immediately.
Helmet, face protection and hearing protector each have a different life, as de-
scribed in the relevant Instruction Manuals of the helmet, face protection and
hearing protector.

The hygiene set contains the sealing cushions. These should be replaced regularly
depending on the period of use, but at least every 6 months.
● Select the correct hygiene set for your hearing protector.

● If adhesive residues remain: Carefully clean the surface of the hearing pro-
tection capsule.
● Remove adhesive film on new sealing cushion.
● Position and align new sealing cushion over the hearing protection capsule,

● Press the sealing cushion firmly at the outer edge,
hearing protection capsule all round.
Storage and transport
Suitable packaging protects the hearing protector during transport.
● Preferably store the hearing protector in the original packaging in a well-ven-
tilated, dry space.
● Do not expose to extreme temperatures, liquids or UV radiation.
