This product is intended to protect the user from impacts to the head. To ensure
the highest possible level of protection and comfort when using this helmet, it is
essential to observe the following information.
The helmet is designed for use when working with chain saws (e.g. timber
harvesting). No statement can be provided for the level of protection for other
applications.
Caution! In order to ensure appropriate protection, the helmet must fit correctly on
the head of the user or be adjusted accordingly. The helmet is designed to absorb
iegen.
the impact of a shock by partly destroying or damaging the shell of the helmet and
the interior. Even if such damage is not visible externally, a helmet which has been
quem
exposed to a major impact must be replaced. The user is also made aware of the
scht.
dangers arising from modifying or removing an original part of the helmet if this is
not recommended by the helmet manufacturer. Helmets must not be modified to
attach any parts if this is not recommended by the helmet manufacturer. Do not
apply paints, solvents, adhesives or self-adhesive stickers, unless instructed by the
manufacturer.
Important points!
No personal protective equipment can ensure total protection against injury. The
level of protection depends on numerous factors. This helmet and its components
are no substitute for safe working techniques. Incorrect use of a power tool can
result in accidents.
● It is therefore essential to observe the relevant safety regulations issued by
the respective authorities (employer's liability insurance associations, etc.)
and the safety instructions in the Instruction Manual of the power tool being
used.
● Before every use, check the helmet and its components for perfect condition
(e.g. visual condition).
● Dispose of the helmet and/or components without delay if these are damaged
or otherwise modified.
● Materials that come into contact with the user's skin can cause allergic
reactions in persons with sensitive skin.
Cleaning
STIHL helmets are technical products and require corresponding handling and care
to preserve their protective function.
● Helmet shells and internal fittings can be cleaned with lukewarm soapy water
(do not machine clean).
● The sweatband must be replaced regularly.
● Do not clean with substances which are aggressive or contain solvents.
Improper cleaning and maintenance can damage the helmet and lead to reduction
or loss of its protective function.
● Follow cleaning and care instructions.
Avoiding damage
● Avoid damaging the helmet and its components by contact with pointed or
sharp objects (saw chains, metal tools, etc.) or with aggressive substances
(such as aggressive cleaning agents, acids, oil, solvents, fuels, etc.).
● Contact with hot objects (muffler, etc.) and other sources of heat (open fire,
stove, etc.) should be avoided.
Storage and transport
A suitable packaging protects the helmet during transport.
● It is preferable to store the helmet in the original packaging in a well-
ventilated dry room.
● Do not expose to extreme temperatures, fluids or UV radiation.
Repairs
No repairs are possible for this helmet!
● Replace the helmet immediately if damaged.
Retrospective modifications (e.g. drilling holes) are not permitted and will impair
the protective function.
Criteria for discarding:
● Check helmet at regular intervals for damage (e.g. crack formation, color
changes). Immediately replace a modified or damaged helmet.
● The helmet must be replaced after loading, such as a major impact, even if
the damage is not visible externally.
Service life
The helmet may be stored for up to 4 years before the first use. From first use we
recommend a service life of 4 years.
● Ensure that helmet is replaced in good time.
Aging starts on the day of first use. Please refer to the label with the information
"date of issue".
● Make a note of the date of first use on the label in the helmet using a
permanent marker.
Helmet, face protection and ear protection each have different service life, as
described in the relevant instruction Manual of helmet, face protection and ear
protection.
