This face protection must only be attached to and used with the
STIHL DYNAMIC X-Ergo or STIHL DYNAMIC Ergo helmet.
The face protection is designed to be used when working with chain saws (e.g.
timber harvesting). This type of face protection is suitable when using chain saws
for example. It is intended to provide protection against mechanical hazards,
such as e.g. flying wood chips. No statement can be made regarding the level of
protection for other uses.
● Check each time before using the face protection that it is in perfect
condition (for example, visual state of the face protection). Discard the face
protection immediately if it is damaged or has been modified.
CAUTION
● Material which comes into contact with the user's skin may cause allergic
reactions with sensitive users.
● The visor does not provide sufficient protection against particles flying at
high speed, for example such as those from working with brushcutters or
cut-off saws. The visor does not protect against liquid splashes (including
liquid metal), hot solids, electrical hazards, infrared and UV radiation.
● Do not allow this face protection to come into contact with pointed or sharp
objects (saw chain, metal tools etc.) or with aggressive substances like
animal excrement, acids, oil, solvents, fuels, etc., to avoid damaging the
material.
● Contact with hot objects (muffler, etc.) and other sources of heat (open fire,
stove, etc.) should be avoided.
● In the event of a combination of products with different markings, the lowest
safety class marking applies.
● Any modifications to the face protection can impair the protective effect. For
this reason do not attempt to modify the face protection in any way. If the
face protection has been modified it must be disposed of immediately.
● No personal protective equipment can ensure total protection against injury.
The level of protection depends on many different factors.
● This face protection is no substitute for a safe working technique. Incorrect
use of a power tool can result in accidents. It is therefore essential to
observe the safety regulations issued by the respective authorities
(employer's liability insurance associations, etc.) and the safety instructions
in the Instruction Manual for the power tool being used.
Cleaning and maintenance
● After use the visor must be washed and cleaned. When doing so, proceed
carefully so that the visor is not scratched.
● Clean with a mild detergent (soap). The detergent used must not cause
skin irritation.
● Wipe off with a soft cloth. Do not use hard cloths, since they may scratch
the visor. Regular maintenance and cleaning will ensure good wearing
comfort. Incorrect cleaning and care may have a negative influence on the
visor's protective function.
● Only clean and care for this product exactly as instructed.
Storage and transport
Suitable packaging protects the face protection during transport.
● Preferably store the face protection in the original packaging in a well-
ventilated, dry area.
● Do not expose to extreme temperatures, liquids or UV radiation.
Durability
● When used outdoors, it is recommended that the visor be replaced at least
every two years. The visor may need to be replaced more often in difficult
operating conditions.
● A visor which has been damaged, scratched or exposed to impact should
be replaced immediately.
Helmet, face protection and ear protection have differing lives, as described in the
relevant Instruction Manual of the helmet, face protection and ear protection.
