es when using a work positioning system must be con-
sidered. The connection device for work positioning
harnesses must be kept taught, the attachment point
must always be above or at hip height. Maximum work-
ing load (including tools and equipment) is 150 kg. The
Sizing chart can be found in (Illus. 11).
EN 12277-D: Sports harnesses are meant for mountain-
eering. Always use a chest harness (type D) together
with a sit harness (type C). Using a chest harness with-
out a sit harness may cause severe injury and even
death. Only use the dedicated Foras cabariner with its
antitwist to connect to the sit harness belay loop. To tie
into the chest harness, tying-in with a retraced figure-of-
eight knot is recommended. Icing may reduce the load-
ing strength.
The following points refer to the illustrations:
1. NOMENCLATURE OF PARTS
A) Fall arrest attachment element to EN 361 (Vector X:
also EN 12277-D). B1) Lateral attachment element to
EN 358. B2) Waist rear attachment element to EN 358.
C) Frontal attachment element to EN 813. D) Gear loop
for gear up to 25 kg. E) Gear loop for tool bags up to 50
kg. F) Loop for fastening of a work seat. G) RFID Chip. H)
Back-up device holder. I) Removable rope clamp. L) Lan-
yard parking element. M) Marking.
2. INSTALLATION OF THE CHEST HARNESS.
a) Front connection. Attach the karabiner of the chest
harness to the textile loop of frontal attachment element
(C). Attention: Only use the Foras karabiner with its
anti-twist and regularly check the correct fit of the
anti-twist b) Rear connection (Chest Y only). Thread the
webbing through the buckle on the rear of the sit harness
and back through the buckle of the Chest harness. The
protective cover shall be installed over the webbing.
c) WARNING: Only connect to dedicated attachment
point.
3. PUTTING THE HARNESS ON
a) Chest X. Attach karabiner of the chest harness to the
textile loop of frontal attachment element and put on the
harness from below. b) Chest Y. Put on the harness from
below and attach karabiner of the chest harness to the
textile loop of frontal attachment element c) EN 361
combination between TreeRex sit harness and Chest X.
Attach the Chest X via the karabiner with the EN 813
frontal attachment element only of the SRT Bridge. The
provided cover on the SRT bridge (both sides of the belay
loop) shall be installed.
The harness should be tight, but still fit comfortably. En-
sure that excess webbing is correctly stowed in the strap
keeper (folded flat).
4. USE OF BUCKLES
a) SlideBlock buckle. b) DoubleLock buckle. c) Slide-
Block buckle. d) TripleLock buckle. Regularly check all
closures and adjusting elements.
5. CHEST HARNESS ADJUSTMENT
a) Chest X. b) Chest Y.
The dorsal padding should be at shoulder level.
6. SIZE ADJUSTMENT TEST
Upon adjustment but before using the harness you
should try being suspended in it for at least 5 minutes in
the planned usage situation in a safe place. The harness
must fit comfortably. When properly selected (size) and
adjusted the suspension test must not result in hindered
breathing and/or pain. When the harness has been ap-
plied, its metal parts should not contact genitals or arm
pits. Free suspension in the harness must not lead to
excessive arching of the back, tensioning of the body,
pressure on the genitals, loins or arm pits. Women's lym-
phatic vessels of the breast should not be constricted if
at all possible.
7. RETIREMENT INDICATORS. ABRASION INDICATOR
When red fibres are showing on the load bearing web-
bing, the harness must be retired.
8. INSTALLATION OF THE ROPE CLAMP
The harness can be equipped with a rope clamp to
EN 12841-B to ascend a rope. Unscrew the karabiner
anti-twist to remove the karabiner and thread the rope
clamp completely. Apply the karabiner back on the web-
bing bridge and screw the anti-twist afterwards accord-
