1. Select the test adapter (Fig. 15, item 2).
2. Check the O-ring in the test adapter for damage
(e.g. cracks).
3. Slide the injector (Fig. 15, item 1) into the test
adapter. When doing so, the inlet bore must be
aligned with the hole for the inlet connector (Fig. 15,
item 3).
4. Turn the injector until the high-pressure inlet bore is
visible in the hole for the inlet connector.

It is essential to comply with the specified torque
when tightening the inlet connector. An excessive
tightening torque will result in damage and breakage
of the inlet connector on testing.
5. Screw the inlet connector into the test adapter and
tighten (tightening torque: 20 Nm – 25 Nm).

Hoses

Always ensure cleanliness when setting down hoses,
e.g. on a workbench surface. Before connecting the
hoses to the unit under test always make sure the
hose connections are clean.

The hose 1 680 712 362 connects the injection
chamber to the injected fuel quantity test connection
(CRI/CRIN, CRI Piezo; Fig. 4, item 4) or to the DHK/
UI flushing connection and test connection (Fig. 4,
item 5).

The hose 1 680 712 287 connects the CRI test oil return
to the return quantity test connection (Fig. 4, item 3).

For injectors with a securing clip, the hose
1 680 712 287 is to be additionally fastened using
the securing clip.

Hose 1 680 712 360
The hose 1 680 712 360 connects the CRIN test oil
return to the return quantity test connection (Fig. 4,
item 3).

The hose 1 680 703 078 connects the CRI Piezo test oil
return to the CRI Piezo return inlet (Fig. 3, item 1).

Hose 1 680 712 283
The hose 1 680 712 283 is required for draining the test
oil tank (see Sec. 6.2.5 ).

Inlet filter

The function of the inlet filter included in the scope of
delivery is to filter out any dirt occurring during testing
despite the CRI/CRIN or CRI Piezo having been cleaned.

The inlet filter must always be inserted at the
"Injected fuel quantity test connection" (Fig. 4,
item 4) for CRI/CRIN and CRI Piezo. This ensures the
correct direction of flow. Never insert the inlet filter
at the injection chamber. The filter must be removed
for DHK/UI testing.

3.6.14
Adapter for check valve 1 683 350 904
The adapter with check valve included in the scope of
delivery is used in testing Bosch CRIs, CRINs and piezo
CRIs. The adapter with check valve sets a counter-
pressure of 800 hPa in the test oil return. With Bosch
CRIs, CRINs and piezo CRIs, plug the adapter into the
"test connection for return quantity".

With third-party CRIs, CRINs and piezo CRIs, remove
the adapter with check valve.
