Testing the installation

Before commissioning the system, test it for proper function and line installation.
After completing the installation, perform the following steps:
• Check the wiring
• Check the power supply
• Check the corridor databus
• Check the functions
• Perform the programming / configuration
5.1

Checking the wiring

Perform a visual inspection of the wiring, looking for any swapped, incorrectly connected or damaged cables.
The connection lines of the plug / screw terminals must be secured against shifting. The bus cabling must be
inspected for correct twisting of the wire pairs.
After a visual inspection of the connection cables, the electrical inspection must be performed. This must
always take place while the devices are de-energised and with the mains adapters switched off. Test the
wiring with an appropriate meter for short-circuits and line breaks.
Wiring errors can be minimized by connecting wires with different colourings.
5.2

Checking the power supply

To inspect the power supply, every mains adapter must be tested individually and then put into operation.
Also check all mains adapters for the presence of a customer-provided fuse and the effectiveness of the
equipotential bonding. The connected power (in resting state) and the polarity must be checked at the
following devices:
• Mains adapter (before and after customer-provided fuse)
• SMC / zone controllers and devices of the zone databus (SBUS)
Electronic modules / room terminals and devices of the corridor databus (ZBUS)

• Bus switch/repeater
To check the power supply to corridor databus devices, the connection terminals must be
connected with the electronic modules and room terminals.
The voltage must lie within the technical specification (24 V DC ± 10 %).
After a successful test, the voltage test must be repeated in the energised state on all mains adapters.
