General / Application

The Ward Management Controller 99plus - hereafter called SMC - is used in the Clino System 99plus and is
the central control unit of the system. It handles the monitoring and synchronisation of all bus devices while
also ensuring the overarching connection to other SMCs or the server.
The SMC has a modular design and can be expanded with 2 Field Bus Cards (FBC). These provide the
interfaces for the zone databus (SBUS) and the corridor databus (ZBUS) and also offer the option of
connecting a redundant power supply. Up to 64 SMCs can be networked via Ethernet or the SBUS. Up to
127 active corridor databus devices, such as room terminals and electronics modules, can be managed over
the ZBUS.
The displays, interconnections, label texts, system language etc. are configured on the operating computer
(PC). Compatibility mode support for existing system installations with the zone controllers (Part No. 72660x)
is integrated and may require updating the firmware on the installed equipment. In addition to preparation for
future firmware updates (licenses required), the SMC is equipped with an SD card slot to enable the use of
additional features.
Thanks to the various designs of the SMC, it may be installed onto a wall or in a cabinet (rack mounting).
Project-specific planning of the central equipment is only required as of 500 rooms.

Safety information
