Ward Management Controller Clino System 99plus (SMC99plus)
Mains and earth connections
The control panel may only be connected to the mains by a qualified electrician and in compliance with all
relevant standards and regulations.
•
Use a suitable cable, e.g. Li2Y 2 x 1.5 mm (max. 2.5 mm²) or cable with the same characteristics for
connecting the system to the mains.
•
Connect the mains adapter for the Ward Management Controller to the AC mains power supply via a
separate mains isolator or a suitably rated multipole circuit breaker. The rated voltage (e.g. 230 V AC) is
specified on the mains adapters type plate.
•
Use a separate FI unit if FI circuit breakers are used.
•
Appropriately label the protection for the mains supply to the mains adapter of the Ward Management
Controller. Observe national standards and guidelines!
•
The protective earth (PE) functional earth (FE) and equipotential bonding must be correctly connected.
(See documentation Part No. 89464B3)
•
Observe local power supply provider regulations.
Danger – Electric shock!
Assembly and installation work may only be performed when the system is de-energised
(voltage free).
ESD / EMC preventive measures
Before handling electronic modules, always take suitable precautions to prevent static electricity.
Protective and functional earth
For the device to function properly, the protective earthing (PE) connection must be connected to
the correct terminal on the mains adapter or installation cabinet. The functional earth (FE) must
also be connected to the PE rail. See the documentation for more information
(Part No. 89464B3).
Insulation on connecting cables
The cable sheath of all of the connecting cables must be left intact up to a point inside the housing
and may only be stripped inside the housing.
Commissioning
A complete function test must be performed on the system upon completion of the commissioning
as well as after every change to the customer data programming. For more information, see
DIN VDE 0834 and section 5.
