Mechanic
The mechanic is trained for the particular range of tasks in which s/he operates and
knows the relevant standards and regulations. The mechanic can perform work on
pneumatic and hydraulic components because of their specialised training and experience
and can independently recognise and avoid potential dangers.
Specialist
A person with appropriate training, schooling and experience enabling him or her to
identify risks and avert danger.
Production supervisor
The production supervisor is capable of performing the work assigned to them because
of their technical training, knowledge and experience, as well as awareness of the
relevant standards and regulations; they are able to autonomously identify and prevent
potential risks. The production supervisor or authorised personnel are responsible for
parametrisation.
The production supervisor is authorised to give orders to other listed personnel.
Operator
The operator has been instructed by the owner on the tasks entrusted to it and is aware of
the potential dangers associated with incorrect behaviour. The operator is only permitted
to carry out tasks that go beyond the scope of normal operation if these tasks are
specified in these instructions and the owner has authorised the operator to do so.
Trained personnel
A person who receives instructions and, where necessary, training from a specialist about
the duties which are assigned to him or her and about the possible hazards of incorrect
use and who has been advised about the necessary safety features and measures.

Obligation of the operator

The operator is responsible for the intended use of thestation.
The operator is also obliged
to assign the various tasks involved in station to qualified, suitable and authorised

personnel
demonstrably instruct staff in their powers and duties
n
to train and supervise the personnel demonstrably with regard to all necessary safety
n
measures
to provide all work equipment (protective equipment, work instructions, etc.) required
n
by the personnel to perform the tasks assigned to them
to ensure that the station is only operated while in technically perfect condition
n
to ensure that the station is protected against unauthorised use
n
to ensure that all current environmental protection regulations are respected
n
Applicable regulations
In the EEA (European Economic Area), the operator must observe and comply
with the national implementation of the Directive (89/391/EEC), the associated
directives and especially the Directive (2009/104/EC) concerning the minimum
safety and health requirements for the use of work equipment by workers at
work, as amended.
Outside the scope of the EEA, other rules may apply. The operator is
responsible for compliance with the local legal regulations.
