Causes of damage
and functional impairment
• Make sure that all packaging and transport protec-
tion material has been removed before using the ap-
pliance. When operating the appliance, it may burn,
melt or cause other damage.
• When the hob is in use, heat and moisture are gener-
ated in its vicinity, which can cause long-term dam-
age to surfaces.
Make sure that the room is well ventilated.
Use the facilities provided for this or install an ex-
traction system (e.g. an extractor bonnet) if neces-
sary.
• Ensure that there is sufficient distance between the
cookware and the controls and the edge of the hob
to avoid heat damage caused by this.
• Never switch on a cooking zone without the appro-
priate cookware in place.
The heat from the flames can, for example, set fire
to the grease filters of an extractor bonnet installed
above the hob.
• Do not heat the cookware when it is empty.
Its base may be deformed and the hob surface may
be damaged by the heat transfer.
• Do not pour cold liquids onto the hob or burners
when the surface is hot. The resulting thermal shock
can damage the appliance.
