7.7 Installing a heat shield
underneath the hob
To prevent overheating, resulting damage and any contact with hot
parts of the underside of the built-in hob, we recommend taking the
following precautions:
• Fit a protective plate made of heat-resistant material at a dis-
tance of at least 15 mm below the hob (See illustration).
• When using adhesive, make sure that it is temperature-resist-
ant to 200°C.
• Make sure that the space between the hob and the protective
plate is sufficiently ventilated.

To avoid serious injury or damage from heat, electrici-
ty or functional elements, make sure that the connec-
tion cable, the gas pipe and the underside of the hob
are no longer freely accessible after installation!
