3.4 Energy-efficient use of the appliance
Your appliance complies with the latest standards and its ener-
gy consumption has already been optimised to a large extent
technically.
In order to additionally keep energy consumption as low as
possible during use, observe the following instructions for ener-
gy-saving use:
• Follow the instructions in the relevant section when selecting
and using the cookware, to avoid energy loss due to heat
escaping and prolonged cooking times.
• Take into account that wide, shallow pots heat up better than
narrow, tall ones.
• If possible, use a lid to avoid energy loss due to heat escap-
ing.
• If possible, cook with little liquid.
For example, 1-2 cm of water with a lid is sufficient to steam
potatoes, eggs or vegetables.
• If possible, pre-cook cereal products by heating them with
the cooking water rather than adding them after it has
reached boiling temperature. This will shorten the cooking
time and reduce energy consumption.
• Set a smaller flame as soon as the food is heated.
• Always switch off cooking zones completely as soon as you
are no longer using them.
