Lap belt

WARNING
Risk of injury due to improper use of the lap belt. The lap
belt helps to stabilise the user sitting in the power wheel-
chair. Under no circumstances may the lap belt be used as
part of a restraint system for transportation in a motor vehi-
cle for the disabled.

The power wheelchair can be retrofit with a lap belt. This
may only be used as a safety belt while driving the power
wheelchair.
Applying the lap belt
1. Push the two halves of the buckle together so they en-
gage. The belt buckle must snap in place with an audible
click.
2. Pull on the belt to ensure that it is locked. The lap belt
should not be too tight on the body. Objects caught un-
der the belt can cause painful pressure sores.
Releasing the lap belt
1. Press the red release button. The buckle opens.
Adjusting the Belt Length
The belt length can be adjusted on both sides.
1. Position both buckle halves in the middle of the body.
2. After positioning the buckle halves at a right angle in re-
lation to the belt, their position can be varied. The excess
belt length is taken up by the plastic sliders.
