6.3.3 Lap belt

The standard equipment of the rehab buggy includes a simple lap belt. It provides additional support for the pelvis
and keeps the user from sliding out of the seat.
Operating instructions
Place the user in an upright, 90° seated position (if physiologically possible).
Ensure that the back is up against the back support pad (if physiologically possible).
The lap belt should run in the direction of the thighs in front of the pelvic bones if possible (not illustrated).
The lap belt should be at an angle of about 60° to the seat surface. The belt strap should run across the thighs
in front of the pelvic bones (see fig. 22).
Possible errors
The lap belt is positioned above the user's pelvis in the area of the soft part of the stomach.
The user does not sit upright in the seat.
If the lap belt is too loose, the user can shift/slide out to the front.
During the installation/adjustment, the lap belt is routed over parts of the seating system (e.g. over arm sup
ports or seat pads). This causes the lap belt to lose its positioning and retaining function.

Installing and adjusting the belt
1) Thread the belt in front of the back support upholstery through the two eyebolts at the lower end of the back
support (see fig. 23, item 1).
2) Adjust the belt ends at the belt closure. Do so by loosening the belt ends in the buckle, adjusting the length
and pulling them tight.
INFORMATION: In the case of a two-piece lap belt, the belt length is adjusted with the hook-and-loop
fasteners on the belt ends. The belt ends must overlap by at least 150 mm.
Using the belt
1) To unfasten the belt, press the quick-release buckle from above and below. Pull the quick-release buckle out of
the closure (see fig. 23).
2) Seat the user in the seat.
3) Fasten the belt by means of the quick-release buckle until the closure audibly engages.
