15 Maintenance
► Remove the nut (1), screw (2), washers (3)
and spring washer (4).
► Remove the black cable (5) from the negative
terminal of the battery.
The negative terminal is disconnected.
Disconnecting the positive terminal
► Remove the cap (6) from the positive terminal
of the battery.
► Fit 2 wrenches against the nut (7) and
screw (8) on the positive terminal of the bat‐
tery.
► Loosen the nut (7) and hold it in place with a
second wrench.
► Completely unscrew the nut (7).
► Remove the nut (7), screw (8), washers (9)
and spring washer (10).
► Detach the red cable (11) from the positive ter‐
minal of the battery.
The positive terminal is disconnected.
Removing the battery
► Release the fastening clip (1).
► Carefully remove the battery (2).
► Attach the fastening clip (1).
► Install the steering column cover,
15.7.2.2 Inserting the battery
NOTICE
If the battery is not sufficiently charged, the ride-
on mower cannot start.
► Use a suitable measuring instrument to
check the state of charge of the battery.
► If the battery voltage is below 11.5 V:
Charge the battery with a suitable charger.
► Place the ride-on mower on a level surface.

► Shut off the engine,
► Engage the parking brake,
► Remove the ignition key and store it securely.
► Remove the steering column cover,

► If the screws, washers, spring washers and
nuts are attached to the terminals of the bat‐
tery for safekeeping: Remove the screws,
washers, spring washers and nuts from the
battery terminals.
Inserting the battery
► Carefully insert the battery (1).
► Attach the fastening clip (2).
Connecting the positive terminal
► Place the red cable (1) at a right angle against
the positive terminal.
► Insert the screw (2) and washer (3) through
the hole of the connecting cable and hole of
the battery terminal.
► Insert the spring washer (4) and washer (5) on
the screw (2) from the other side.
► Turn the nut (6) onto the screw (2).
► Place 2 wrenches against the nut (6) and

► Tighten the nut (6) to 6–8 Nm and hold it in
place with a second wrench.
