4 Safety Precautions
► Ensure that the ground is dry and solid.
► Pay attention to any changed weight distri‐
bution due to attachments and full grass
catcher box.
► Do not empty or lift the grass catcher box.
► If the wheels begin to spin or if the ride-on
mower becomes stuck: Disengage the
blades and drive down the slope in a slow,
straight descent.
► Do not stabilize the ride-on mower by
steadying it with your feet on the ground.
► Do not work on slopes with a gradient
greater than 10° (17.6%). A slope inclina‐
tion of 10° corresponds to a vertical height
increase of 17.6 cm (b) over a horizontal
distance of 100 cm (a).
■ Exhaust fumes are produced when the engine
is running. Breathing in exhaust gas can have

► Avoid inhaling exhaust fumes.
► Use the ride-on mower in a well-ventilated
area.
► In the event of nausea, headache, visual
disturbances, problems with hearing or diz‐
ziness: Stop your work and seek medical

restricted when wearing hearing protection
with the engine running.
► Work calmly and methodically.
■ The rotating blade may cut the user. This may
result in serious injury to the user.
► Maintain distance to the mowing
deck.
► Keep hands and feet out of the
reach of the blade.
► If the blade is blocked by an object:
Shut off the engine and disengage
the blade. The blade must not be
turning. Only then remove the object.
■ When mowing in reverse, it is difficult to main‐
tain a clear view of the working area, and con‐
trolling the ride-on mower requires additional
attention. This may result in serious injury to
people and damage to property.
► Only mow in reverse if it is absolutely nec‐
essary.
► Check the working area before starting to
mow in reverse.
► Uncouple any attachments before mowing
in reverse.
► Work with care and attention.
■ When unlocking the grass catcher box, users
may get their hands caught. This may result in
injury to the user.

► Make sure that all your fingers are located
under the handle when you press the grass
catcher box release lever.
■ The mowing deck may fall down while attach‐
ing or removing the mowing deck. This may
result in injury to the user.
► Ensure that no parts of your body are loca‐
ted under the mowing deck.
■ The wheels may fall down while attaching or
removing the wheels. This may result in injury
to the user.
► Ensure that no parts of your body are loca‐
ted under the wheels.
■ The cutting height lever is under tension.
Users can suffer injury while attaching or
removing the mowing deck.
► Do not press the cutting height lever while
attaching the mowing deck.
► When removing the mowing deck, select
the next higher cutting height immediately
after detaching the mowing deck.
■ Operating the ride-on mower with attachments
may present additional risks. This may result
in serious injury to people and damage to
property.
► Pay attention to the User Manual for the
attachments.
■ If the ride-on mower starts behaving differently
or in an unusual way while operating, the ride-
on mower may be in an unsafe condition. This
may result in serious injury to people and
damage to property.
► Stop your work and contact a STIHL
authorized dealer.
■ The ride-on mower may cause vibrations in
operation.
► Take breaks.
► If signs of a circulatory disorder occur: Con‐
sult a doctor.
■ Inspect the mowing area and look out for
obstacles. If the blade hits a foreign object
when working, the foreign object or parts of it
may be ejected at high speed. People may be
injured or property may be damaged.
► Remove foreign objects such as
stones, sticks, wires, toys or other
foreign objects from the working
area. Mark concealed objects that
cannot be removed.
► Always work with care and attention when
mowing in the vicinity of roads, cycling
paths and sidewalks.
► When not mowing or when driving the ride-
on mower on any surface other than a lawn,
disengage the blades.
