► If a foreign body is struck: Switch off the
engine and check the ride-on mower for
damage.
■ When the blade is disengaged, the blade still
continues to turn for a short while. People may
suffer serious injuries as a result.
► Keep hands and feet out of the
reach of the blade.
► Do not detach the grass catcher box
until the blade has stopped turning.
■ Sparks may be produced if the rotating blade
hits a hard object. Sparks can cause fires in a
flammable environment. Persons may be seri‐
ously or fatally injured, and property may be
damaged.
► Do not use in a flammable environment.
■ Hard objects hitting the rotating blade can
damage the lawn mower.
► If a hard object hits the rotating blade,
switch off the engine, remove the batteries
and check the lawn mower for damage.
► If the lawn mower is damaged: Contact a
STIHL authorized dealer for assistance.
■ The ride-on mower may unintentionally roll
away if it is stopped on a sloping surface. Peo‐
ple may be injured or property may be dam‐
aged.
► Only leave the ride-on mower unattended if
the following points are met:
– The ride-on mower is on a level surface
and cannot roll away by itself.
– The ride-on mower has come to a com‐
plete standstill.
– The blade or the drive for the attach‐
ments is disengaged.
– The mowing deck and all attachments
are lowered.
– All levers are in their neutral setting.
– The parking brake is engaged.
■ The steering wheel may move unexpectedly
when you drive the ride-on mower across
uneven surfaces. This may result in injury to
the user.
► Hold the steering wheel securely with both
hands.
► Drive carefully and anticipate movements of
the steering wheel.
■ Accidents may occur when working in a group.
People may be injured or property may be
damaged.
► Maintain a safe distance.
► Inform third parties about planned actions.
■ If the ride-on mower is operated with the mow‐
ing deck detached, the ride-on mower and dis‐
charge chute may become caught on foreign

particles such as stones, sticks, wires or roots,
and property may be damaged.
► Remove the discharge chute.
■ If the gearbox is disengaged, the ride-on
mower may begin to move unexpectedly. This
may result in serious injury to people and
damage to property.
► Press the gearbox freewheel lever only on
level surfaces.
► When parking the ride-on mower and the
gearbox is disengaged: Engage the parking
brake.
■ The cutting height lever is under tension. The
cutting height lever may move unexpectedly
and injure the user when it is released.
► Firmly hold the cutting height lever until it is
securely engaged in a cutting height posi‐
tion.
■ If people sit down or stand on the mowing
deck, they may come into contact with the
blade and sustain serious injuries.
► Never sit or stand on the mowing deck.
■ If objects are placed on the mowing deck, they
may fall off and cause material damage.
► Do not leave or place any objects on the
mowing deck.
■ If the mowing deck is continuously overloaded,
the V-belt may overheat and cause a fire. Peo‐
ple may be injured or property may be dam‐
aged.
► Pay attention to unusual noises.
► Do not mow with a clogged discharge
chute.
► Do not mow with a full grass catcher box.
■ The ride-on mower may overturn when loads
are attached or pulled. The user or third par‐
ties may be seriously injured or killed, and
property may be damaged.
► Check the brake before pulling any loads.
► Transport loads only with accessories
approved by STIHL.
► Do not transport loads on the ride-on
mower or on or in the grass catcher box.
► Transport loads only with the trailer hitch.
► Do not exceed the maximum tongue weight
and maximum pulled load.
► Secure the loads so that they cannot move
or slide out of place.
► Place the loads so that their weight is
evenly distributed.
► Do not make any narrow turns and do not
abruptly change the direction of travel or
speed.
► Reverse with care.
► When pulling the loads on a slope, the max‐
imum pulled load is reduced. Adjust the
