► Clean the top of the mowing deck with a
wooden stick, a soft brush or a moist cloth.
Ensure that the water does not reach the V-
belt and the toothed belt.
► Detach the grass catcher box,
► Use running water and a soft brush to clean
the grass catcher box at a distance from the
ride-on mower.
► Clean the level sensor with a dry, soft brush.
► Detach the discharge chute,
► Use running water and a soft brush to clean
the discharge chute away from the ride-on
mower.
► Clean the cooling ribs of the engine and the
gearbox.
► Attach the discharge chute,
► Attach the grass catcher box,
► Attach the mowing deck,
15 Maintenance
15.1
Maintenance intervals
Maintenance intervals depend on the ambient
conditions and the operating conditions. STIHL
recommends the following maintenance inter‐
vals:
Engine:
► Maintain the engine as described in the engine
User Manual.
Before each use:
► Check the tires,
► Check the fuel lines for damage.
► Check the fuel filling level.
► Check the engine oil filling level.
► Check the machine, mowing deck and protec‐
tive covers for damage.
► Check the screw connections.
After the first 10 operating hours:
► Have the ride-on mower inspected by a
STIHL authorized dealer.
After 25 operating hours:
► Check the blades,
After 50 operating hours:
► Check the mowing deck position,
► Grease the movable parts.
After 100 operating hours:
► Replace the blades,
Every 12 months or after 100 operating hours:
► Have the ride-on mower checked by a
STIHL authorized dealer.

Opening the engine compartment
► Place the ride-on mower on a level surface.
► Shut off the engine,
► Engage the parking brake,
► Remove the ignition key and store it securely.
► Allow the ride-on mower to cool down.
► Detach the grass catcher box,
► Remove the discharge chute,
► Remove the mowing deck,
Releasing the engine compartment cover
► Pull out the cotter pin (1) on the right rear
mowing deck mounting.
► Loosen the rod for cutting height adjust‐
ment (2) from the mowing deck mounting (3).
► Loosen the screws (4) until they turn freely.
The screws are secured with loss protection
and cannot be removed after being loosened.
