Cleaning, maintenance and
repair
WARNING
■ If the ride-on mower is not maintained as
required, it cannot be operated in a safe condi‐
tion.
► Do not use the ride-on mower and instead
have it serviced by a STIHL authorized
dealer.
► Comply with the specifications in the User
Manual for the engine and have the engine
maintained according to them.
■ If the ride-on mower is on a loose or uneven
surface during cleaning, maintenance or
repairs, the ride-on mower may move uninten‐
tionally or tip over. This may result in serious
injury to people and damage to property.
► Park the ride-on mower on a solid, level
surface.
► Never park the ride-on mower on edges or
ditches.
► Engage the parking brake.
■ When working under the ride-on mower during
cleaning, maintenance or repairs, the ride-on
mower may fall. This may result in serious
injury to people and damage to property.
► Have work under the ride-on mower per‐
formed by a STIHL authorized dealer.
■ Having the engine running during cleaning,
maintenance or repair may result in serious
injury to people and damage to property.
► Shut off the engine.
► Wait for the blade to stop moving.
► Remove the ignition key and store it
safely.
■ If the engine is running during cleaning, main‐
tenance or repairs, the ride-on mower may
move unintentionally. This may result in seri‐
ous injury to people and damage to property.
► Shut off the engine.

■ The muffler and engine may be hot after the
engine has been running. This can result in
burn injuries.
► Wait until the muffler and engine have
cooled down.

has cooled down.
■ Abrasive cleaning agents or using a jet of
water or sharp items for cleaning may result in
damage to the ride-on mower, the mowing
deck or the blade. If the ride-on mower, the
mowing deck or the blade is not cleaned cor‐
rectly, components may no longer operate cor‐
rectly and safety devices may be disabled.
People may suffer serious injuries as a result.
► Clean the ride-on mower, the mowing deck
and the blade as described in this User
Manual.

ing the blade.

■ The blade may become hot during sharpening.
The user may get burned.
► Wait until the blade has cooled down.

■ When working on or in the vicinity of electrical
components, electric shocks may occur. This
may result in personal injuries.
► Disconnect the negative cable from the bat‐
tery.
■ Users may injure themselves when the blade
is moved during maintenance, cleaning or
repairs.
► Wear protective gloves made of resistant

► Block the blade with a piece of wood.
► Keep all parts of your body away from the
rotating range of the blade.
