WARNING Risk of injury when working at
heights due to falling slide-in module (2.5 kg).
Sometimes the slide-in module is hard to pull out
of the wall sleeve/slide into the wall sleeve. Use
appropriate, certified climbing aids (ladders). Sta-
bility should be ensured, if necessary have the
ladders steadied by a 2nd person. Ensure that
you are standing securely and cannot lose your
balance and that there is no one under the unit.
When installing and removing the slide-in mod-
ule, support it from below with a hand.
CAUTION Risk of injury from insects
(wasps, bees etc.) in the external cover or
wall sleeve.
Watch out for small animals when removing the
slide-in module. Recommendation: Use units in
continuous operation.

31.2 Changing air filters
DANGER due to electric shock
Observe the safety rules of electrical engineering.
Before removing covers and installing the elec-
trics, switch off all supply circuits and secure
them against being accidentally switched back on
again.
CAUTION Cuts due to sharp edges on
sheet metal or housing cut-outs or on the
slide-in module.
Wear protective gloves. Do not damage connec-
tion cables.
CAUTION Danger to health, respiratory
diseases, infections due to poor hygiene if
the filters are not changed regularly or if the
ventilation unit is used without an air filter.
The filter change indicator flashes when the
filter is due to be changed.
RLS 45 K: Current LED flashes.
Performing and acknowledging
filter change: Press and hold both

ATTENTION
• Change the air filters of the ventilation unit
when the filter change indicator appears (rap-
idly flashing LEDs).
• Never operate the ventilation unit without an air
filter. The ventilation unit becomes dirty and un-
filtered substances can enter the rooms.
• Generally, change the internal and external fil-
ters together.
• Only use original air filters with the prescribed
filter class. Otherwise there is a danger to
health from harmful substances that can accu-
mulate in the air filter.
• Change the air filters regularly, after 6 months
at the latest.
• Replace the air filters even after the ventilation
unit has not been used for a longer period of
time.
