15 MOUNTING, CONNECTIONS
• When installing the RLS 45 K room air con-
trol, the RV 2 ventilation unit or the PP 45 LT
power unit within protection zone 0, 1 or 2
and ingress of moisture.
No IP protection available (IP 00).
The installation of RV 2, RLS 45 K or PP 45 LT
is only permitted outside protection zones 0, 1,
2.
DANGER due to short circuit or fire. Seri-
ous injuries/death.
• In the event of moisture penetrating the con-
trol unit.
Ensure a correct, tight cable feed.
• In case of overload due to incorrect connec-
tion or connection of too many units to an
RLS 45 K.
Connect the ventilation units according to the
connection diagram.
Comply with the permissible number of ventila-
tion units per room air control/power unit.
Mounting the control unit
1. Switch off the mains fuse and secure it against
being switched on again.
2. Carefully remove the outer frame of the
RLS 45 K.
3. Cut the power cable and connection cable to
length.
4. Wire the RV 2 ventilation units with the RS
485 connector plug (bus terminals), see plug
sticker and Connection and wiring diagrams.
5. Insert the connector plug into the RLS 45 K.
6. Insert the RLS 45 K into the flush-mounted
box and screw it to the box using 4 screws.
7. Attach the outer frame. When using a PP
45 HYI sensor, ensure that the sensor opening
is correctly positioned over the HYI and that
the frame snaps into place.
8. Switch on the mains fuse and start up the
ventilation system, see chapter Commission-
ing, setting parameters.
9. Call up the service menu and activate the sys-
tem components.
Use the automatic search function (Plug &
Play) for an even number of RV 2 units. The
ventilation units are automatically assigned in
pairs.

15.4 PP 45 HYI internal humidity
sensor
• PP 45 HYI = Accessories for internal humid-
ity sensor
• Connection generally to the RLS 45 K master
control unit.
ATTENTION: Unit damage/no function if the
humidity sensor is installed incorrectly. Do
not bend pins. Insert sensor up to stop in
bush.
1. Switch off the mains fuse and secure it against
being switched on again.
2. Carefully remove the outer frame of the
RLS 45 K.
3. Plug the PP 45 HYI internal humidity sensor
into the I2C interface (arrow).
4. Attach the outer frame. Ensure that the sensor
opening is correctly positioned over the HYI
and that the frame snaps into place.
5. Start up the ventilation system and register the
humidity sensor in the service menu, see set-
ting parameters in the service menu.
15.5 Additional RLS 45 K (slaves)
• Connection to the RS 485 bus.
• A maximum of 3 RLS 45 K control units (as
slaves) are permitted in the ventilation system.
• The assignment as a slave device is made in
the service menu of the respective room air
control unit (addressing slave 1, 2 or 3).
• The set operating mode, ventilation level and
the additional function External Off (if connec-
ted to the 230 V input) apply to all ventilation
units.
• Other additional functions (sleep mode, inter-
mittent ventilation, safety function, supply air
mode) can only be used for the units connected
to the respective RLS 45 K.
Activating slave control
1. Install the RLS slave control unit in the flush-
mounted box as described in the previous
chapter.
