15 MOUNTING, CONNECTIONS
• If the maximum specified cable lengths are ex-
ceeded, imbalances may occur. Observe the in-
stallation specifications with regard to the cable
lengths per cable run and cable types.
• The permissible cable lengths in the RS 485
bus can be extended with PP 45 LT power
units and with RLS 45 K configured as a slave
(signal amplification).
• Recommendation for PP 45 LT: If there are
more than 2 ventilation units, install the PP 45
LT in an electronic switch box (simpler electrical
connection).
• RV 2 ventilation units and RLS 45 K control
units are not suitable for use in outdoor areas.
Only use these outside protection zones 0, 1
and 2 and protect them from moisture and wet-
ness.
• Time-limited functions (intensive ventilation,
sleep function) can also be switched on from
other rooms. The switches or buttons for this
are connected to the 230 V input of the RLS 45
K and configured in the service menu or with
the commissioning software.
• The LED brightness on the RLS 45 K can be
adjusted using the commissioning software.
The LEDs can also be switched off if they are
disturbing (bedrooms).
15.2.1 Automatic search (Plug & Play)
• With the automatic search function, the device
addresses of the individual ventilation units are
read out and automatically assigned to the
supply air and exhaust air groups. The function
can only be used with an even number of RV
2/CPP 60 ventilation units.
• Manual device addressing and assignment can
be carried out with the commissioning soft-
ware for an odd number of units and is also
possible for an even number.
• PP 45, PPB 30 or exhaust air fans must gener-
ally be configured manually using the commis-
sioning software.
The factory-assigned RV 2 device address is
located on the device plug-in terminal box
cover (sticker next to the type plate).
15.2.2 Mixed system, odd number of units
RV 2 ventilation systems can also be equipped
with an uneven number of units. The volumetric
flows are automatically divided according to the
number of units → chapter Air volume flows with
an uneven number of RV 2 units [} 66].
15.3 RLS 45 K room air control
(master control)
The control centre for the RV 2 ventilation sys-
tem is an RLS 45 K room air control unit (230
VAC) used as a master control unit.
Possible system extensions on the RS 485 bus
• up to three additional RLS 45 K control units
(slaves)
• up to three PP 45 LT power units
• up to 8 RV 2 ventilation units (12 VDC) per RLS
45 K master control
• 1 PP 45 HYI internal humidity sensor
• external sensors PP 45 HY, PP 45 CO2 or PP
45 VOC
• 1 EnOcean wireless module PP 45 EO.
Installation instructions
• The additional components must be activated in
the service menu [} 76] or with the commis-
sioning software [} 80].
• Mixed systems consisting of PP 45 and PPB 30
units are permitted.
Observe the maximum permissible number of
ventilation units, system components and
connection lines. Avoid imbalances caused by
cable runs of different lengths and different
power consumption.
DANGER due to electric shock. Serious
injuries/death.
• If there is no or insufficient separation
between the 12 V extra-low voltage and
230 V.
Ensure a safe distance between 230 V and 12
V (SELV).
Ensure a minimum distance of 8 mm.
Ensure a phase balance between all compon-
ents connected to the ventilation system.
