11 System information
• The PPB 30 K is a balanced unit. Therefore, no
pair of units is required
• RV 2 ventilation units are assigned to the sup-
ply air rooms. These must equalise the required
excess supply air.
• ATTENTION: Use the commissioning software
to configure the exhaust air function.
• Maximum power consumption per RLS 45 K
and PP 45 LT = approx. 20 W → Maximum
number of ventilation units [} 66].
11 System information
11.1 System information for
operators
• System settings are made in the service menu
of the RLS 45 K control unit or with the com-
missioning software.
• The control units can be used to select the op-
erating modes operation with heat recovery,
cross ventilation operation or automatic op-
eration (only when the sensor is connected and
activated).
• The operating modes and ventilation levels
are displayed on the RLS 45 K control unit
with LEDs.
• In operating mode cross ventilation (without
heat recovery), the ventilation units operate
permanently in one direction in supply air or ex-
haust air mode.
• The 230 V input of the RLS 45 K control unit
has a switching contact for additional functions,
such as intermittent ventilation, sleep function
or overrun (connection by a specialist installer).
This additional function is only valid for the
ventilation units connected to the respective
room air control unit.
• Automatic mode with sensor control only
with connected humidity, CO2 or air quality
sensor (VOC). Depending on the sensor values
measured (H, CO2, VOC), the volumetric flow
of the ventilation units is gradually adjusted.
The set operating mode of operation with heat
recovery or cross ventilation remains active.
• Automatic mode can be switched on or off
manually on each control unit.
• If an internal humidity sensor PP 45 HYI is in-
stalled in the RLS 45 K, the value of the in-
ternal sensor is always used for humidity
measurement.
• The filter is changed as required, at the latest
after 2 years.
• Cleaning or maintenance may only be carried
out by a specialist installer.
11.2 System information for
specialist installers
• System configuration in the service menu of
the RLS 45 K control unit or with the commis-
sioning software.
• The service menu of the RLS 45 K is used to
set important unit functions or to register
sensors, the EnOcean module or power units.
• When setting up the system, the Plug & Play
function can be used with an even number of
RV 2/CPP 60 ventilation units, with which the
ventilation units in the residential unit are auto-
matically paired. Manual assignment is there-
fore not necessary.
• The commissioning software has an exten-
ded range of functions. Systems with an un-
even number of RV 2/CPP 60 ventilation units
or mixed systems with exhaust air units can
also be configured here. If there is an uneven
number of units (3, 5 or 7 ventilation units),
the control system ensures volumetric flow
compensation between the supply air and ex-
haust air units. No commissioning software is
required for a mixed system with, for example,
2x PP 45 and 2x RV 2 (PP 45 via Fan1/2 and
RV 2 via Plug&Play).
• External, wired sensors PP 45 HY, PP 45
CO2 or PP 45 VOC (air quality) provide the
measurement data for the automatic function.
These are connected to the RS 485 bus of the
RLS 45 K control unit. 3 external sensors (also
mixed) can be connected per RLS 45 K.
• Use the rotary switch on the sensor housing to
address the sensors:
● Position 0: Sensor 1
● Position 1: Sensor 2
● Position 2: Sensor 3
• In combination with an EnOcean wireless mod-
ule PP 45 EO, radio sensors and radio
switches can also be used. Up to 8 radio
sensors can be taught to one master RLS. The
sensor types must comply with the EEP pro-
tocol, see Teach-in radio components (EEP).
• The ventilation system can be expanded with
up to 3 PP 45 LT power packs and 3 RLS 45 K
control units (as slaves). Connection to the
RS 485 bus of the master RLS.
