6.3 Efficient use of the extractor fan
To achieve a high effective performance of the extractor fan
and also to keep its energy consumption as low as possible,
please observe the following instructions for use:
• For efficient and trouble-free operation, always ensure sufficient
supply air and avoid draughts.
• Switch on the appliance early to create a stable air circulation
and to avoid the distribution of cooking vapours in the room
even before switching on.
• Always adjust the power level to the amount of cooking vapours
produced so that they can be completely removed.
• However, for recirculation operation, note that a slow air flow
better ensures the time needed for odour absorption.
• Note that the use of tall cookware can reduce the extraction effect
due to the increased distance between the cooking vapours
and the extractor fan.
You may be able to improve this by placing a lid on the cookware
at an angle.
• If possible, use a lid for your cookware to keep cooking fumes low
and thus avoid increased power demand and condensation.
• After cooking, leave the extractor fan running for a while until the
room air has been cleared of any remaining steams and odours.
• As soon as the extractor fan is no longer needed, switch it off.
• Clean or change the filters at the recommended intervals
to avoid build-up of impurities, increased energy consumption
and functional impairment.
