4.3 Commissioning the hob
• Only put the appliance into operation if it is in perfect
condition and has been properly installed by a suitably
qualified electrician.
• Make sure that the metal grease filter and in the case of recircula-
tion operation, also the 2-part active charcoal filter of the extractor
fan is / are properly inserted.
• To operate the appliance, proceed as described in
"Operation, setting and use".
Odourandfumeformationduringfirstoperation
When using the hob for the first time, there may be an odour
and also a slight vapour.
This is normal and harmless; however, in this case do not heat
any food on the appliance yet and keep the room well ventilat-
ed until these have evaporated (max. 30 min.).
You can then use the appliance as normal.
Setting the operating mode for the extractor fan
The operating mode of the extractor fan is preset at the factory
to exhaust air mode and can be changed via the control panel
of the extractor fan.
To change the currently set operating mode,
proceed as follows:
